Youth Ministry

W.H.Y. | Woodland Heights Youth

What is W.H.Y.?

Woodland Heights Youth (W.H.Y.) is designed to help Jr. & Sr. High School students (6th-12th grade) grow in three areas:

  1. their relationship with Jesus,
  2. their community, and
  3. as part of the Kingdom of God.

We call ourselves W.H.Y. not simply because we are part of Woodland Heights Christian Church, but because many times in life the biggest question is, "Why?" We want Jr. & Sr. High students to know that even though they might have questions, they don’t have to go through it alone.

If you're a current Jr. or Sr. High student, there are several ways you can get involved with W.H.Y and other youth areas here at Woodland Heights.

Sunday Morning Worship

On Sunday mornings, we encourage Jr. & Sr. High students to worship with their families during our two service times at 8:15 and 10:30am. We have found that it is beneficial for youth to worship with their families (immediate family and church family) for their long-term spiritual growth.

We also have Sunday School classes for both Jr. High and Sr. High that meet at 9:30am in their respective rooms in the lower level of the Worship Center.

Sunday Night Youth Group

Sundays from 5-7p

Youth Group is a time that is set up specifically for Jr. & Sr. High students. Here, they get to come together with friends who are also seeking and growing in their relationship with Jesus.

During this time we have worship, study, prayer and games together. We meet from 5-7pm on most Sundays during the school year.

Youth Events

Throughout the year we have different youth events, including:

  • retreats
  • laser tag and nerf wars
  • conferences
  • mini golf outings
  • local, regional, and international mission trips
  • and more...
